MetaElite is a role playing environment designed for the "Elite: Dangerous" (ED) game. It allows the ED community to create interactive story telling for the community, closely integrated into your ED gameplay.

The MetaElite servers connect you to our communty-driven interactive story-telling platform. Its companion app, MetaLens, exposes that functionality to you, the player. This MetaLens application is run next to the ED game, overlaying with the game for immersion, providing a separate view for detail. It monitors the ED journal logs created during your ED gameplay, seeding the MetaElite environment, enabling community-driven campaigns, missions, their tasks, and its story-telling.

MetaLens for Windows can be downloaded using the following link. Once installed it will update automatically.

MetaLens for Linux (and possibly Mac) will soon be available.

This server is only intended for MetaElite feedback, to provide you with help, to listen to our users, and has a strong development focus. The server is strictly governed, and we will ban you if you do not behave decently.

MetaElite is first and foremost being developed as a companion application for the Distant Worlds 3 event. You find a link to the event's website below.

MetaElite is being developed by Othon von Salza (My Elite: Dangerous alter ego referring to Jodorowsky and Moebius). MetaElite saw the light of day around the time Fleet Carriers dropped. After a long break of many years, around when Odyssey was released, I picked it up again when organization started for the Distant Worlds 3 event in the beginning of 2025. Since then I have been greatly supported by Karnath that shields me from anything not being development or sysops (I am so happy with that!!), the many Distant World 3 organizers supporting content creation and providing feedback, and of course Erimus, the main organizer, for his support and belief.

MetaElite will have a life after Distant Worlds 3. It intends to be a community environment for creating campaigns, missions, storylines by everyone for everyone. Distant Worlds 3 is an essential step towards that goal.

Finally, if you like what we are doing, and want to support us and this project, there is a donation button top-right. Running the MetaElite servers costs quite a bit of money, and donations will allow us to spend more time on making MetaElite awesome. We will gladly mention you for your support, if you like that. Once implemented (soon), we will provide you with digital badges/titles in MetaElite for recognition.
